Thomas M. Bernstein
Mr. Bernstein joined the Midwest Operating Engineers Fringe Benefits
Fund Office (MOE) in June 2005 as the assistant administrator. He was
appointed to the position of administrative manager in January 2014.
Mr. Bernstein manages the everyday operation of the fund office, which
includes the building corporation, pension fund, retirement enhancement
fund, welfare fund, vacation savings and the apprenticeship fund.
As part of the health and welfare fund, he was also responsible for the
operations of the Midwest Benefit Pharmacy, which ceased operation in
July 2015. Mr. Bernstein was instrumental in the design and implementation
of the Operators’ Health Center, which was introduced to the
membership of Local 150 in July 2015. He has overseen the development
of the My150 Community portal, the construction of the new MOE
Funds website, and development of the MOE Health Plan Marketplace.
Prior to joining MOE, Mr. Bernstein was employed for 15 years in a variety
of roles for the Teamsters Central States Funds. His responsibilities
included auditing, collections, accounts receivable and withdrawal liability.
Mr. Bernstein has a master of business administration (M.B.A.)
degree in finance from Loyola University of Chicago. He also earned a
B.S.B.A. degree in finance from Xavier University.
