Liz Scott Ph.D., M.Eng., M.B.A., M.Sc., R.N., COHN-S, CRSP, CDMP

Dr. Scott, principal, Organizational Solutions, is an accomplished disability management professional recognized for award-winning cost-reduction results, “best practice” program designs and an ability to solve a complex variety of internal and external workers’ compensation, disability and insurance concerns. She has an established reputation for effectively introducing change by demonstrating to employees and management the benefits of improved performance. Clients are from all industry sectors and consistently experience reduced duration of time lost from work by employees and decreased cost in the disability area. Dr. Scott’s unique background successfully combines knowledge and experience gained as a health, safety and risk executive in a variety of industries including consumer goods, automotive, retail and other manufacturing in both Canada and the United States. Organizational Solutions manages claims and consults with employers in a wide variety of sectors. Additionally, she currently teaches at McGill and Guelph Universities, playing an instrumental role in program development, and previously taught for 11 years in the occupational health and safety program at Ryerson University and Sheridan College. Dr. Scott was also a key participant in the establishment of the NIMDAR certification examination and participated on the audit committee; she was selected for these roles in recognition of being one of the top disability managers in the country. In addition, Dr. Scott also participates on committees with the Institute for Work and Health assisting in the identification and pursuit of research priorities in Canada. Her education further complements her career experience with a Ph.D. degree  in industrial psychology, a master of engineering degree in advanced design  for manufacturing from the University of Western Ontario, an M.B.A. degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, a master of science degree in community health and education and certification in nursing, safety and disability management.  Dr. Scott has spoken at a variety of forums and published often on topics surrounding her areas of expertise. She has been a guest on the CBC morning show and has authored a textbook, Comprehensive Disability Management.
