Kenneth E. Edwards

Kenneth E. Edwards is a longtime union-side labor attorney who recently

left the employ of the International Union of Operating Engineers

Local 150, where he served as counsel for over two decades, to

become the executive director of the Midwest Coalition of Labor

(MCL). The MCL is a nonprofit coalition of unions dedicated to providing

benefits to over 200,000 members and their families. By working

together to purchase benefits, the MCL achieves cost savings that allow

unions to provide these benefits to their members at either no

cost or heavily discounted rates. The MCL started with five unions in

Chicago and now boasts over 300 locals in 11 states and growing. The

MCL recently began the process of leveraging numbers to open nearsite

doctor’s offices throughout their jurisdiction.
