Jamillah Muhammad
Jamillah Muhammad is the education-to-careers director for the Construction Industry Service Corporation. In this role, she presents career information about the building trades and their apprenticeship programs to students and adults at schools, community colleges, community groups, faith-based organizations, and other interested individuals and educators. Originally from Chicago’s Englewood area, Muhammad started her journey after high school with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 134. She is a 11-year Journeyman Communications Electrician previously serving future members as an instructor at IBEW NECA Technical Institute in Alsip, Illinois. Muhammad is active as a mentor with Chicago Women in Trades, also serving on CWIT’s board, as a delegate of the Chicago Federation of Labor and as a board member of the IBEW/CFL scholarship committee.
