Laurie Hutchinson C.Dir.

Laurie Hutchinson is the Chief Executive Officer at Ontario Municipal Retirement System (OMERS) Sponsors Corporation. With over $120 billion in assets, OMERS is one of Canada’s largest jointly sponsored defined benefit pension plans, serving over one-half million active and retired municipal workers in Ontario. Prior to joining OMERS Sponsors Corporation, Hutchinson spent several years serving on the OMERS Administration Corporation Board as a member of the Board and several of its committees, including as chair of its audit and actuarial committee. Hutchinson is a retired pension actuary who has spent her career working with defined benefit pension plans, primarily in the public sector, as consultant, volunteer, educator, regulator, and advocate for defined benefit pension plans. She has executive leadership experience at two of Ontario’s largest pension plans, with a particular focus on plan sustainability and pension governance. Hutchinson is a founding member of the Master of Trust Management Standards (MTMS) instruction team for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. She is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and holds the chartered director designation from The Directors’ College.
