Donna B. Ryan R.N., R.D.N., M.P.H., CDCES, FADCES

Donna Ryan has served as regional director of population health for
Ascension Health–Sacred Heart Health System on the Gulf Coast as
well as manager of outpatient and inpatient diabetes programs from
California to Florida. She holds dual licenses as a registered nurse
(R.N.) and registered dietitian (R.D.N.). Ryan also served as president
of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES),
is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES),
and is a Fellow of ADCES (FADCES). Ryan has served in numerous national
leadership and advisory positions, including the Diabetes Advisory
Council (DAC) for the State of Florida, the Centers for Medicare
and Medicaid Collaborative for Health Equity, the Centers for Disease
Control DSMES Marketing Strategy Group, and the FDA Critical Path
Innovation for Hypoglycemia and FDA/CMS Hearing on Glucose Monitoring.
Ryan has dedicated 30 years of service to patients with diabetes
and chronic conditions, providing expert clinical care, education
and support in hospitals as well as public health, community and population
health settings. She is passionate about helping people manage
their diabetes and advocating for equitable access to quality care
and education, medications, technology and resources. Ryan earned
her master’s degree in public health from California State University,
Northridge and her bachelor of science degree at the University of
Alabama.
