Pierre Cote D.C., Ph.D.
Pierre Côté is an epidemiologist and the Ontario Tech University Research Excellence Chair in Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation. He held the Canada Research Chair in Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation from 2013 to 2023. Dr. Côté is a professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences and the director of the Institute for Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation at Ontario Tech University. He is also appointed as a professor of epidemiology at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto and an adjunct professor of disability prevention at the University of Southern Denmark. Dr. Côté is actively involved in several international research, rehabilitation and health policy initiatives. He previously led the development of the Common Traffic Injury treatment protocols for the Government of Ontario. He is a member of the World Health Organization (WHO) World Rehabilitation Alliance and has contributed to several WHO projects including the WHO Development Group for programs of rehabilitation interventions for low back pain. Dr. Côté currently serves as chair of the Cochrane Rehabilitation Methodology Committee, chair of the EUROSPINE Diploma in Interprofessional Spine Care (EDISC), and co-chair of the Spine20 scientific committee. He has published more than 370 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
