Christian Benjaminson FSA, EA, MAAA

Christian Benjaminson has more than two decades of experience as
an actuarial consultant, primarily with Taft-Hartley pension plans. His
experience includes helping plans apply for Special Financial Assistance
under the American Rescue Plan Act. He also helped an insolvent
multiemployer pension plan receive approvals for a partition and
benefits suspension from the Treasury Department and the Pension
Benefit Guaranty Corp. Benjaminson helped set up a multiemployer
adjustable pension plan which distributes investment risks between
employers and employees. He chaired the American Academy of Actuary’s
Multiemployer Plans Committee (2020-2022) and participated in
educational programs about the multiemployer pension crisis for lawmakers.
He is a frequent speaker at the Annual Conference of the International
Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Enrolled
Actuaries meeting. Benjaminson is often quoted by the press about
multiemployer pension plans. He joined Cheiron in 2003 and opened
the firm’s Philadelphia-area office in June 2006. Benjaminson is a Fellow
of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), the highest professional accreditation,
an Enrolled Actuary (EA) under ERISA and a member of the
American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA®).
