Cory Carlson
Cory A. Carlson is the president and chief executive officer at Washington Capital Management, Inc. as well as a member of its board of directors. Carlson joined Washington Capital in 1999 as portfolio manager for real estate equity portfolios and became chief executive officer in 2012. Washington Capital Management has approximately $8.8 billion in assets under management, the majority of which is real estate equity and debt. They represent both comingled funds and separate account clients. Most of their clients are union pension funds. Washington Capital also provides fiduciary and/or QPAM services for pension plans. Carlson previously spent 18 years at Weyerhaeuser Realty Investors (previously known as Weyerhaeuser Venture Company), where he was a regional investment manager, responsible for identifying, investing and managing a broad range of real estate investments. He received his B.A. degree in urban policy from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Washington, focusing on finance and real estate.
